Default Long billed thrasher (for real this time-lol)

Static subject but I love the big bright eye.

Cropped a little tight to show detail--I have more room all around in original.

    Any composition suggestions?

Beautiful side-on shot,Gary , of a striking bird.I love the bright eye, HA and long tail , as well as the clean bg. As for comp I would give a little more space in front. Normally for birds with long tails it is quite tricky to achieve a 'right' comp!

Good pose and I love their eyes. I would like to see a little more room all around.

You actually have a long-billed thrasher here.

OK, I'm at least in the thrasher ballpark now. The ranch's guide photographer describe it as a curved bill but some google searching indicates that you are correct.

    Gary:

Sharp, well exposed, great feet and eye.

Yes, long tailed birds are always a challenge comp. wise. I would give it a sliver more room on the right.

I corrected the thread title per your request. Just wanted to let folks know so that Dan's comments does seem odd.

    Cheers
