Went out this AM to check my gear and "Knock the Rust Off" my skills, in preperation for our upcoming Bosque trip.
Looking forward to this as it will be my first time there.

Joe:
Always good to get in some practice before a big outing! You want to make the most of the trip, and hit the ground running!
Your hoody is sharp, good exposure except on the very front of his white crest, where I am not seeing much detail.
Light was well off to your right.
From a comp standpoint, I might consider cropping down from the top about 1/3 of the free space.
What gear were you using?
Cheers
Randy
Nice Merganser Joe. Hood almost up, sharp and the water is awesome. These guys are tough. If you can handle the exposure on this breed, you can certainly handle a Sand hill Crane!
Gary.
Love this one Joe, beautiful colors and the light angle adds drama. Maybe you should be staying home and getting your rest instead???![]()
Like the sharpness and the partially raised hood. Side-lighting is tough with these guys; to get the best exposure you need the sun behind you. Otherwise you risk overexposing your whites. When are you going to be at the Bosque?
Upcoming Workshops: Bosque del Apache 2019, Ecuador 2020 (details coming soon)

Joe, Nice Hoodie, I like the water color and the sharpness looks good. Nice light on the eye. These guys are my faves. Have a great time in Bosque-you will love it!![]()
