I'm Anna, I'm 21, from Burlington, Ontario. I am about to graduate from a business school and am facing years and years of accounting. To save my sanity, I have recently been gifted with a camera (FujiFilm...FinePix...S9100) and binoculars. The idea was for me to pick up a hobby to take my mind of Debits and Credits once in a while. So with binoculars in one hand and a camera in the other, I got into traveling to places with a purpose of finding something and photographing it. Hence, I became a huge fan of nature photography, as well as hiking, camping, fishing, and pretty much any outdoor activity you can think of. I've been joining local birders on their birding adventures (who also got me a field guide to birds so i even learned to ID them) and taking photos of birds. I'm planning on doing a number of bird counts (so far I have done about 5) and adding other species to my Life List, so if I could learn a few techniques from all the wonderful people here and get some tips, that would be awesome!
Hi Anna, welcome to BPN!! This hobby can become very addictive, but hey, at least its outdoors (for the most part!). There is lots of good stuff to read about birds and birdphotography, be sure to check out the "Tutorials and Educational Resources" and the "Avian: About Birds" forums. If you have any questions don't hesitate to post them in the forums...we're all happy to help
