    Default Lilac Breasted Roller

Lilac Breasted Roller at South Luangwa, Zambia.
(Wasn't very lucky about the light and 50D is not very well known for its low light performance.)

    50D, 400mm f/5.6L
    1/640s, f/8, ISO-800

    [EDIT: Size changed to 800x533]

    Thanks for C&C.

Excellent pose, perch, and sharpness. I don't see any noise to speak of. Remember that image posts can be 800 pixels tall (and 1024 wide).

    Thanks a lot Doug.
On the size issue, if you mean max 800 height, I have modified the pic to 800x533. Hope that's OK.
    Thanks again.

I never get tired of seeing this beautiful species. Very nicely captured--pose, detail, HA all look great. If you are open to doing a little pruning, you might consider removing the twig in the LLC. Just a thought. Well done.

Prabir, nicely out in the open, and the colours look spot on. I like how the tail is framed between the two parts of the perch, and I would remove the loose piece of wood LLC.

Fantastic details, head angle and DOF, Prabir. Gorgeous bird. I hope to see it in the wild some day.

    Prabir,

Really nice pose and good and true to life colour, I would remove the twig in LHBC as well.

Stuart, Sidharth, Ken, Dumay - thanks a lot for your comments and suggestions.
Dumay, thanks for pointing out. I'll try and reduce the sharpening a bit.
