    This was taken this afternoon at Barnegat Inlet.

    I was photographing Purple Sandpiper when this guy flew in.

    Canon 1dmkIII 500mmf4 1.4x, Tripod, Manual exposure sunny 16 1/2000 @ 7.1 Iso 400, Auto focus.

    Excellent image Jim-Love the way you caught the tail feathers just dragging in the surf.

    The dragging tail feathers make this image for me. Maybe some S/H to get more details in the shadows and tone down the whites. I know, it's really hard to expose harlequins properly. :)

    Hi Jimmy,

    Nice timing on this landing duck. I wish it wasn't turned slightly away and that the light wasn't quite as harsh. Perhaps a bit more SH in PS would help.

    Beautiful exposure and timing.
    If this was cropped I would prefer opening it up a bit and placing this neat duck further right with more space to fly into.
