Backlit Oriental Lily. Various blend modes and masks. Blended with PB-Oil and dodge/burn layer. Two textures blended and colored for BG.
    All C&C welcome.

Wow. This is a winner. It's always nice to start off with backlighting, but your processing is what makes this so great. Did you both dodge and burn? Whereabouts? (I'd like to know if my guess is right.)

Thanks Dennis, The backlighting on the lily was a bit too even and rather than use a curves layer to add contrast, I just dodged and burned to taste. The BG colorized textures needed a transition of dark to light (bottom to top) and rather than use a gradient - just felt the urge to paint. 10% opacity and a big feathered brush makes it easy... even for me.

Awesome composition, Steve. I like the diagonal flow and soft pastel like effect. Excellent processing!

Steve, I like everything about this - the colors, textures, the composition. And especially the curve on the bottom petal

Steve, This has an almost pastel chalk look to it that I like very much. Nice job with the filter combos and the original capture. The colors rock!

The colors are beautiful - who wouldn't like that color palette? But...for me...it's the diagonal comp and the flow of the petals that really makes this image perfect! This would make a really lovely poster.

Thanks everyone! Appreciate your insights very much.
Paul, good eye, one of the textures was paper.
