I like his perch, exposure generally good with perhaps a few small hot whites on chest and neck.
His head is turned just a bit away to my eye, and he could use a bit more sharpening for my tastes.
The toughest component are the reeds in the foreground on the left angling towards him. Their position and high contrast against the sky really make them dominating elements in the frame, and distract form the subject.
Sharp and a cool bird but with 90 degree sidelight you were up against it before you began.... And having the head turned slightly away (rather than slightly towards you and the light) was pretty much fatal....

Interesting perch. The side light is tough when you have a bird with white on the breast. Fill flash would have helped here. Sharpness is only OK; you shutter speed is borderline and that may have caused the slight softness that I see.
