Curved Bill Thrasher taken at Leguna Seca Ranch during NANPA Summit in Texas earlier this year.

    Canon 7D
    ISO 400
    f/6.3
    1/250th
    Canon 500mm

Cropped a little tight for detail. Does it need more sharpening???

    All c/c welcome

Gary, this guy certainly seems alert, and I like the large eye. Cool looking perch, and the BG compliments the bird nicely. Yes to another round of sharpening. The focus point looks like it could have been on the end of the wing.

    Default check bird

    Great shot fine details.

It look like a Northern Mockingbird to me.

I like the pose, perch and BG. Could use a little noise reduction on the BG. Well done Gary!

Nice bg and very nice alert pose, Gary. I would add a bit of contrast for some pop here. I would also sharpen the bird and run NR on the bg.
This is the state bird of Texas - a Northern Mockingbird.

My apologies to all the Texans out there. I was looking at another image to post (a thrasher) and accidentally captioned this one incorrectly.

Thanks for all the comments--I'll run it through PP again to sharpen it up and do some more NR.

Very nice pose, Perch, BG & excellent details. As mentioned before, adding a little more contrast & another round of sharpening would be helpful.

Good job on the sharpening. I would work on the eye to bring out some of the yellow color and it would add some pop to a good image, nice job.

I really like the full alert pose, complimentary bg and excellent perch. Lots of good suggestions for making a very strong photo even better.

Amazing Bg abd the pose needed some more canvas on the left side in front of the bird
