This shot was taken in The Gambia, the local fishing fleet had arrived and these gulls were forever the opportunist, i sispect this had taken a fish that had fallen out of one of the fishermen's baskets.
    All C & C welcome.

The thumbnail doesn't do this photo justice. Love the fish in the mouth and it's silhouetted tail. Can you open up the shadows under the bird's left wing?
I like the feet position and the slight head turn towards you. I am OK with the wing position but a full up would have been better and would have cast no shadow across the body,

Thanks Gail, I took a number of images but unfortunately the wing position did not alter much at all. I will take a look at that left wing.

Hi Jon, your grey headed gulls look slightly different to ours with regards to the grey on the head. Well exposed, and just love the eye. The fish adds, and sea BG's always work for me. Maybe a little off the top. Cheers.

Nice image clearly depicting the opportunist behaviour these guys have. Tough exposure situation pushing the dynamic range of digital. I do wish the gull was not angling away from us, even if ever so slightly. Perhaps a crop from above would work, and ditto Gail in regards to wing position.
