I Have seen this bird only 2/3 times at Zambia. I had shot a full body perch. But also got an opportunity for a close up.

Prabir, its always great to see these colourful birds. I feel you have brought out the colours spot on, and interesting finish to the beak. Comp wise, I would have either included all of the wings, or just below the mauve on the breast. Also a little tight on the left. Have you cropped this, as there is a bit of noise visible along the body.
Thanks Stuart. As it is I couldn't get the full body on this shot and the light was not on my side. I had to crop out the let and right a good 50% to get rid of the clutter.
I saw the noise. Thought of working on this. But I am afraid, I will lose some amount of sharpness in the process. Let me try again.

felt the focus is on breast and so the head got bit softer compare to the sharpness of breast and you must be too close to achieve more dof with f/8
