It's a real peach of a shot, superb focus exposure and detail. The pose is great and the background is unobtrusive. It must be great to have shots like this tucked away!

Ken, what a shot! Beautiful is an understatement.

    Dumay,

I am puzzled can you let me know where you can see halos, the bottom of the neck is grey as it is in shade.

Halos around most of the body and the grey area is just above where the shade is.

Ken, good flying posture, and well exposed on the underwing. Nice show of the talons. I agree there is a halo around the whole bird. There is also a slight s/h halo too. ( in levels, move the midtone slider slowly to the right, and the darker you go, the more the halo is visible )

Excellent shot. Great wing position, real nice exposed, like the position of the bird, a very stunning image.
    Well done.

    Hi Ken,
I too can see the halo. Otherwise a nice image. I find this wing position and phase angle very difficult to compose nicely. Personally, I would prefer a rectangular crop,

Well I have to confess to being totally bemused by the "halo" comments.

I have not used S/H and rarely do, there are no visible halos on the tiff or the jpeg unless you go to extreme levels of pixel peeping to discover it.

As for the grey I am currently looking at the posted JPEG at 800% and most of the neck is greyish as this was dictated by the sun angle, there is in fact just one relatively "white" patch on the neck.

    It looks nice printed
