California Gull, taken earlier this year. The wind was helping to puff this guy's feathers, thought the bent white feathers on left almost looked like a hand pointing a finger. ACR, CS5, cloned out a few rocks, removed blue cast

What a great shot -super exposure, there really is some detail in there. Well seen and a great capture, I like the pose, I don't suppose too many birds would want to argue with him!!
(and hey ....despite what Canon have to say you can still get good shots taken with the 7D in conjunction with older lenses and combinations!!)

That is a pretty serious looking gull. Exposure is spot on and reveals a lot of detail. A bit of work but it would be interesting to see if removal of oof rocks would be significantly better. Nice low angle.

Brendan, those whites are really white - good work with the exposure here. I like the feather detail, especially the layers of feathers. The eye stands out nicely against the white plumage. If this were mine, I would lose the OOF pebbles in the BG.

killer sharpness and superb monotone of the sandy beach. the front elements on ground adds value but i think the oof are little distraction to me and can be eliminated..
