    Default One More Snowy Owl

    Attached Images Attached Images

From yesterday morning. Not the ideal pose nor angle on sun but what was available on a very windy day. I removed a number of brighter bits and lightened up the owls left eye.
    7D, 500mm, 1/1250, f/5.6, IO400, manual, and tripod.
Again standing in a bit of sea water and bird a bit higher. The ice is from sea spray and I would suspect owl would get flushed out by rising tide and strong onshore wind.

I wouldn't make excuses if I were you Dave.
Insted, I would be proud of this shot and I mean it.
This is an excellent picture of this great looking Owl species.
Love the light, the habitat and the great feather details, as well as the eyes.
I don't remember seeing too many pictures of this species having so great feather details on the head and I have seen a lot.

Thanks Arash and Karl. Very nice comments. I am quite happy with the shot and especially how the habitat turned out.

What a really nice shot Dave. IMO one of the best I've seen of this species. The look of the light on the BG is especially nice, providing rich, natural looking shadows, and warm, pleasing colors with a 3-D look. Deserving of more than just 3 comments. Very well done.
