    Default Howdee from Wyorado, USA

    Good Afternoon,

I was told I could join this wonderful forum even though as yet I'm just a pointandshootaramus. That alone makes me think "you" are my kind of people.

I was born in Beantown [Boston] but had the gift of Wyoming throughout the warmer months of my childhood and went to college in Colorado and lived in Colorado fulltime from 18 through 38 years of age. For a few years I helped out with a Raptor Eductaion Program and gained a more enlightened appreciation for all birds. For the last 10 years I have again been spending half my year on a Wyoming Guest Ranch in the family. We're in the Dunoir Valley, just East across the Continental Divide from Grand Teton National Park on the edge of the Washakie Wilderness in the world's first National Forest, the 2 million acre plus Shoshone.

Begining with two groups in 2011 I have started prospecting and booking photography workshops on the Ranch, getting qualified professionals to put together and lead groups. Although none have been avian focused I look forward to more with a nature/wildlife emphasis in 2012. I am honestly impressed with the quality of images from so many of you on the site here. I am willing to share some location information with no strings attached from Santa Fe to Bozeman. I know some short walks in Greater Yellowstone that few locals let alone media have any idea of. I'm by no means a Naturalist but have come to appreciate much since I started wandering the Gros Ventre Mountains and Tetons as a little boy from my family's longtime seasonal home near Kelly, WY that I was heartbroken to see sold 15 years ago or so.

Thanks for pointing the way here James, and to everyone here for such a great community I'm excited to explore far more substantially in the coming weeks.

So what do you say to a photographer to wish them luck without "jinxing" them? Break a shutter? Get that pulitizer? Whatever it is great photography and wild enthrallment to everyone,

    John

Big welcome to BPN, John! We've all begun as "pointandshootaramuses," or whatever the plural form of that word would be. Glad to have you here, and looking forward to your participation!

Hey John, welcome to BPN!! Sounds like you have lots to offer, and we're looking forward to your participation. Feel free to browse, and contribute to some of the discussions and critiques

BTW, even being from up here in Canada my dad and brother are both diehard Boston Bruins fans...needless to say they were pretty happy with last season!!
