My 100th thread on BPN and it has been an amazing journey . What I love about this forum , that there is a lot of honest critiquing of your work , and awesome tips to improve . It has pushed me to do only better and better . Thanx to each one of you for the encouragement . Also , the brilliant quality of images by fellow photographers ensure that you post only your best images . Love to be a part of this awesome site .

This image was shot in Goa in monsoon . The light was not great , so had to push the camera to its limit . This is a FF image of this beautiful bird in the midst of a lush green field .

Camera : Canon 1D Mk III
    Lens : Canon 600mm f4 IS , 2X TC
    Aperture : f8,
    Shutters : 1/250s
    Speed : ISO 3200 .

    Cheers,
    Rakesh

Fine overall shot this Rakesh! That hint of rimlight highlighting help break out the blues against that gorgeous green BG. The details are lovely, as we've come to expect from you :)

Nit: IMHO the bird is a little too much on the right bottom of the image - could've been to portray a sense of space.

A fine image to celebrate your 100th posting Rakesh.

Very good detail and overall colour, especially when you consider the techs. The bright & vibrant BKG certainly helps separate the bird. Would consider a slightly tighter crop, as personally I feel the bird is rather lost in the frame and swimming in the space.

    Once again, congratulations.

Rakesh, congrats on your 100th thread, and what a colourful little jewel to share with us. Considering the conditions, you have done very well, and the colours look spot on. The little guy stands out nicely against your smooth BG. Comp wise, I would take at least half off the top. A slightly HA would have been great too.

Excellent IQ and beautiful processing, and love the pose including the raised tail. Comp is not best it could as pointed out already, and same goes for the head angle. What is the perch?

Congrats on your 100th thread started....

I love this. The composition is genius. Plumage texture wonderful. Colours perfect. Great perch (top of a fence post?). I would pay to hang this on my wall. Picture editors/designers would kill for the space around the subject. One of the finest photographs I have seen on this website.

Beautiful shot what a way to celebrate the 100th - well done! Love the colours and the detail, I like the composition but equally I can see why suggestions were made regarding a re crop, I think they would also work well.

Lovely photo Rakesh. You managed some fine detail under tough conditions. On balance, I think I would opt for a tighter crop. But that's a personal thing and it's your photo!
