Granted there are some beauties in Asia. But this little guy has to be right up there. They live in the reeds of marshes throughout Peru. This one I found near a high elevation lake at around 4300m ASL. I hope you enjoy it!

    All the best,

    Glenn

WHAT A BIRD!!! I like the round and fluffed up pose here. I also like how the main perch fades into the background as well as the vertical lines that the reeds create in the background.

Great job in what looks like dark conditions. A stunner bird for sure.

You have got to be kidding me! This guy is just too much, what a character. Amazing coloring, and love the round shape. Almost looks like a cartoon. Nicely captured and composed.

A beauty for sure Glenn. Even the undertail coverts are a nice rusty colour - a colour I also see in the BG suggesting the markings and colours are camo adaptations to that reedy environment. Terrific use of flash to give you the light but not too much.

What an incredible bird Is it just fluffed up or does it always looks like that? Looks like it belongs in a coral reef!

    Beautiful setting.

WOW - for a lack of a better word :)
Fluffy, well crafted and hand painted by the maker.

You've done very well to show the beauty of the bird. The greens help accentuate those lovely yellows on this.

    cheers,
    Hayath
