I revisited an old image that I had originally applied the lquify tool to several years ago. Here is a version with Pixel Bender Oil Painting.

I really like the PB Oil Paint effect on this. The detail in the forelock against the softer mane is a nice contrast. And the soulful look in the eye is incredible. I'm guessing that the PB effect on the forelock hairs framing it accentuate that impression. Very nicely done.

    Denise,

This is terrific. Image design is super. This drew me in the second I saw it.............Great filter selection with PB, and applied so nicely to show the different layers of color and hair. Wonderful detail and textures..........Thumbs way up!

Denise, beautifully done, and agree, that eye really does draw you in. Love the intimate close-up pose you capture with the hair falling over the eye. Sweet, delicate, and as Dennis mentions, a soulful depth all captured very well with this composition. The combination of colors and lines really work well together, and just the right touch of filtering to give a nice softness & texture. I think that little bit of eyelash showing really takes it over the top. I also just learned (or relearned) a new vocabulary word. Very well done!

Denise, this really is a perfect treatment for the image. I love the texture that PB created in the face and forelock. The only thing I find mildly distracting is the far right side - all the forelock and hair seem to be flowing to the right and the mane on the right is straight up and down. I could see a crop from the darkest part of the bottom of the mane on the right as an alternative. But that is just my opinion and it is gorgeous just the way it is.

Denise, one of my favorite images from you...it would be a very strong image without any additional processing, but Pixel Bender takes it over the top...careful, precise composition...fantastic color...great lighting....a dream-like quality to the final image...wow. This would be an incredible cover for a children's book.

Cheryl, not sure I understand what you are saying regarding the mane, maybe you can explain more- thanks.

    Thanks everyone, I appreciate it.

    Denise,

Greetings. I really like the look. The PB effect is very cool. I find myself wondering what this would look like with more below and cropped in from the right. The near vertical right side sorta blocks up that side to my eye (I think this is what Cheryl is referring to). A little less would do. A small backing off of the PB on the left corner of the eye would also work for me.

These are suggestions for tweeks... the OP is great. Good show!

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

Thanks for clearing that up. I don't like the idea of a crop from the right as I feel it might place the eye closer to the center and that doesn't appeal to me. I will take another look though and thanks for the comments, I appreciate it.
