I've always been fascinated with skulls...go figure!...and this deer skull, hanging from the side of an old barn, fascinated me with the framing against the weathered wood. RAW image processed in LR...then separate layers of NIK's Tonal Contrast, Detail Extractor, and a Topaz Adjust 5. Hope you enjoy it.

Hi John, Cool, creepy skull shot. Really like the combo of skull and wood knot under his jaw................very good subtle processing to bring out the details in the skull and wood. This might work well as a square crop as well. He looks angry...........Love the screw in his head.......

Jay...thanks for pointing the screw out...I posted the wrong image! Here is what I had intended to post...I had several versions going and had removed the screw and simplified the image a bit in the one I thought I had posted...thanks for pointing it out!

I pointed it out because I liked it! Either works well. I might have titled it "Scr***d".

John, I like both but I found the screw a little distracting. They put the screw right in a knot! I especially like the knots - especially the split one in the upper right. Neat image

Hi John, very nicely done, I like the texture in the skull and antlers.
