Light was changing quickly due to fast moving clouds but bird and scene was constant, so went with Av mode (Evaluative metering +1 EV).

Photographed in April 2011 on the Bay side of Mustang Island State Park, just south of Port Aransas, TX.

Looking forward to your comments and critiques!

Very nice Mike. No nits from me. AV is the only way to go if light is changing quickly!

Nice pose, and I love the texture of the water. Glad you kept that bit of land showing at right but I may eliminate the smallish dark spot next to it.

Mike, good feeding pose, and I too like the 'ruffled' feathers. Overall, nice and sharp, and if this were mine, I would take a bit off the bottom.

Excellent image. Great pose, detail is superb, great low angle, and I really like the texture of the ground.
    Well done.

The lifted foot really helps create interest, as does the ruffled feathers. Nice pose, good exposure and detail. Agree with a bit off the bottom.

I really like the water in this one Mike....definetly adds a nice patterned interest.

I would loose some from the bottom, clean up the one black speck on the birds breast and perhaps the one tiny point of sand or debris sticking up on the right...but I'm beiong picky!
