    Default Kudu browsing

I have always been fascinated by the horns on these magnificent antelope and this one gave me a good display. Taken in Kruger National Park late afternoon.

    Canon50D EF100-400 1/125@f5.6 iso400. FF, removed two twigs from the Kudu's face.

    C&C most welcome.

They do have magnificent horns. I like the soft light.

    Hey Peter,
The horns are really emphasized here and the inclusion of the environs is just enough....without being distracting. Not an easy one to pull off and the light is wonderful!!!

Hi Pieter, these are magnificent animals, especially the males with their 'corkscreew' antlers. Good you got close as some I have found can be very timid or incredibly curious and happy to venture quite close.

I would suggest dropping the blue to give a cleaner look & feel, then play with some Vibrant/sat just to give it some late afternoon warm. If this is almost FF, then a hint more sharpening would help, or is this a crop?

Repost is just for a guide.

    Pieter,

Great image of a mighty fine Kudu, not often you get them with a catchlight and a little bit of tongue. My kind of image

Pieter - great to get a clear view of the horns especially in the habitat. I do like Steve's suggestion for a slightly warmer image.

Nicely composed Pieter. Great view of those horns, and the matching line of the neck and horns leads you right up to where the action is, plucking those leaves. OP does seem a touch blue.

Have been in the bush for three days hence the late response. Thank you for all your kind comments and suggestions. I see the colour cast mentioned and will be looking at the suggestions made by Steve, thanks for taking the time and for the repost Steve. This is FF so will also look at some additional sharpening.
