At last got an hour's sunshine - quite literally! No time to get to the shore, still there is always another day. The eye was dull as ditch water so this one was cut and pasted from the previous frame.
Shot taken from garden hide sunflower seeds as bait.

Beautiful color, and great IQ, Jonathan! Like the texture of perch but wish it was sharp on the lower closer part. Realize you probably couldn't give up anymore shutter speed. Nice eye work, wish head was turned toward us some, but still good looking image.

I like the view of the back and the feather detail but the looking way from us HA is an issue for me.

Had the head been angled to at least parallel to the sensor this would have been killer good. The rest of the pose is excellent, as is the comp, BG, and perch...but bummer about that HA...

I like the BG, but the head is turned away from us and the critical focus was on the back, wish you had waited until he turned his head....:)
