I repost of the image I posted yesterday... Took some advice from the members and made a couple of tweaks... Still to dumb to blend exposures (tried but a mess), so could not follow Morkel's suggestion to get more detail in the foreground...

Would appreciate your input on which image you prefer. The other image is here http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...galagadi-Storm

Hi Rudi , Like the comp and detail in the FG on this one with more of the ridge showing. Not sure but think I prefer the darker silhouette of the Gemsbok in your OP.

Your re-post is by far the best, IMHO. The Sky's tones are much more cleanly defined, lots of definition there. The lower half is light, but not overly so. The game animal on the right lower side is more defined too. I love this in B&W. The cloud placement on the lower right just above the horns is a good ending point. It draws my eye right there but does not over power the rest of the image.

I agree with the others Rudi, I think you captured the tweak suggestions well in the repost.

Prefer this one. Pieter's thoughts on the FG and Gemsbok, and Grady's on the clouds echo mine.

    Hi Rudi,
This is better than the original and ditto what has been said above. It is a wonderful image and the cloud definition definitely makes the image. When I drive up or down the Auob River in Dec/ Jan I will have this image in my mind.
Thanks for sharing and well done.
    Mark.
