    Vikram,

Nice comp, pose, angle and colors. I notice that you shot this at 2.8 at 1/5000, I hope you have something with more DoF showing the beautiful background in focus as well.

Welcome to the Wildlife Forum, Vikram! Lovely scape here! I love the mountains in the BG, the vibrant blues and the look of the bear.

Vikram - what were your EXIF settings? It always helps to post these as text in the post...

    Thanks Vikram.
As Kiran said - you could easily have sacrificed some SS for aperture. I rarely use my 70-200mm at f2.8, and especially for "animalscapes" I set it to anything between f5.6 and f8.0 .

love the composition here, and the colours in this one. Beautiful image and thanks for posting. I agree with the others above on closing down the aperture for more depth, but I also like your result here with the bear somewhat isolated by focus...each approach has merit

Great to have you posting and what a couple of great bearscapes here. Like both of these very much but much prefer the second one b/c I find it more powerful. Just curious to know if you may have tried any at F11 or F16?

On the second capture your horizon appears to be sloping down to the right and look as though it needs some CCW rotation.
These are both really good images. The colors are gorgeous. You placed the bear well in the frames. I wish they were mine!

    Marina,

Thanks for the appreciation of both the images.

The second one is photographed and posted by my friend Dr Saurav Mahanta. We were together in Kamchatka, Russia.

Dr Saurav's image is really powerful as there is more focus on brown bear than on overall landscape.

A bit of CCW correction is required in second image.

    Thanks

Great bearscape. The color of the water and BG mountains is nicely rendered.
