Another curlew, Correction it's a Whimbrel - walking briskly with its catch, trying to avoid it getting stolen! Rotated, crop, ACR, CS5 - Was not sure about including that strip of dry sand at bottom.

Lovely in-stride pose. This is a whimbrel :)
The snack puts this over the top.
Sharp and nicely composed. Lovely image, Brendan.

Hi Brendan, Nice looking Whimbrel not a Curlew their beaks will be as long as their bodies. I like the light and nice details I would lose the srtip of beach on the bottom

Nice action and the catch is a huge plus. The strip is bothersome but IMHO it cuts it too close to the bird's feet if you remove it. Would have liked to see this from a slightly lower vantage point. Like that long stride the Wimbrel is taking.

Excellent! love the Morsel and the walking pose. would consider moving the catch light a bit and just wish for slightly softer light

Thanks folks, much appreciated. Agree it would be better without the strip and moving catchlight a bit. Will try for warmer light and lower angles.
