Getting this lady out in open like this is sheer luck.
Cropped a bit tight as there was some clutter around the edges of the original frame. My cloning skills are very primitive but still was able to clone out a thin grass blade to the left of the bird.

Canon 7D, Canon 500mm f4+1.4x TC, ISO 200, f5.6, 1/800 Sec.

Sharp and nicely exposed. I like the feather overlapping the perch. Subject and perch work the diagonals well in the frame.

Perhaps a sliver more space above because of the direction of gaze. Might try to tone down the luminosity of the grasses beneath the bird.
