Hi Robert, you have exposed the big guy very well, and brought out the plumage nicely. Good HA too. He is well placed in the frame, but I feel he is just too large in the frame. A little more space below for the virtual feet will work, and I would give this some CCW rotation.

    Robert:

Good points from Stuart. Very well exposed, sharp, nice head position.
Do agree about a bit more below if possible. Won't take much.

Not sure about the rotation. I think it is possible that the shoreline is angling away from you giving the impression of a tilt. The ripples look pretty level to my eye.

    Cheers

Robert, if you have more room on the bottom, I think that a vertical of this fine image would be interesting. I'm not loving that uneven shoreline and a vert would eliminate that.

    Robert,
I really like your exposure control here and processing I think it looks fabulous, I find myself wanting to see more of the reflection however, I realize its not strong, but still wanting to see it. It may come from the fact as Stuart mention the birds large in the frame, perhaps here the rule of 3rds would preside. Having said that if you were not to change a thing I would love it. them whites against those pastel blues are very attractive!

Good pose, exposure bang-on, and details look nice. I agree this big fella looks rather large in the frame, and I am not a fan of the shoreline intersecting at the neck. I know a lower angle may not have been possible, but had it been that would have been a way to lower that line to behind the body rather than the neck. Still, good looking individual and well photographed.
