Out at the local duck pond again. The Mallards are very common and numerous here , but hard to pass up when the color is right. The water color comes from the autumn color reflections.

    Joe:

Mallard drakes are very handsome fellows. Nice color in the water, nice head angle, perhaps the tiniest bit tight on the left.

Did you need to do any post work in the water above the back.? It looks a bit murky there, compared to the water elsewhere.

I took a minute to lighten some of the darker areas on the face, rump, and a tiny bit on the breast. Just an option.

    Cheers

Joe, lovely greens on the mallards head, and I like the low perspective. The water colour rocks, and I like what Randy has done to the head, very subtle.

Nice fall colors....glad you did not pass up this common bird as he is quite beautiful. I think he's swimming slightly downhill. :)

    That's how they conserve energy.

    Joe,
Lots to like here, the head angle and water are terrific. As is your exposure on the bird. An image to be proud of. I think some additional time on the water might strengthen this image but its fine as presented.
