    Default Sea Otter Blur

This one was taken on the final day of Homer IPT... this Otter put up a show rolling and swimming alongside our boat. I switched to blur and took this one at 1/10 sec. For processing, doctored the head a bit, used Topaz Adjust and also applied adjustment curve to increase the contrast. Hope you like it...

There's a lot to like about this ... Good composition -- both the otter placement and the diagonal lines. Very nice blur in the water with a well-defined otter head and sharp eyes. And a blue and brown color combination.

Sweet! Indranil. I like the amount of blur-it seems to be just enough to silken the water. Even though the water color is slightly exaggerated it looks great! I like that you capture the otter looking at you, nicely done!

Indranil, I really like the amount of blur and the contrasting blues and browns. The water is a yummy color

Thanks folks... the color does look a bit unnatural. The original had a bit of cyan which became more prominent with Topaz Adjust. So here is a repost with reduced cyan... any preference?

If I was stuck on realism, I'd have to prefer the repost. But I'm not. The first is fanciful, and I like that.

Indranil, although I love the color of the water in the OP I think I prefer the repost color better for this image.

Love the color of the water in both and the smooth flowing look of the blur. Heck, I loved this one from the moment that I saw it on the back of your camera. BTW, the cyan version is accurate; that water was positively green. See my hop, skip and jump eagle blur just above .

I also vote for the first one. I like the cyan color and the pose with the otter looking at you really makes the image!

HI Indranil, I vote for the first one too. Nice amount of blur with the head turned toward you. Nice capture!
