    John,

Nice one, since the background is sky you could have opened the lens for a faster shutter. Creating more detail and sharpness. Probably do not need that much DoF as well. That being said, you show good detail for 1/160 and controlled the frame well. The major issue is the steep shooting angle. This creates a strong foreground dominated by the perch. Nice work using the 2x TC it tends to flatten the shot helping offset the high angle. The subjects are great and show wonderful pose and character. Any picture of Eagles always takes my breath, thanks for sharing this is a nice moment with nature. Please keep em coming.

Wonderful image and pose! Very nice exposure and at first I thought the sky may be too dark, but it does balance well against the strong yellow of the beaks and legs.

Obviously the juxtaposition of the two birds is really nice. However, there is something very funky going on between the two birds below the left bird's beak. I can't figure out why there is blue sky there.

I never noticed that! Yes, it seems the eagle on the right is missing part of his body, or it is a peculiar illusion.

Nice capture but I agree with John there is something wrong between the two birds, it looks a bit of a cloning error.

I hadn't noticed the bit of blue sky between the birds before. It is there in the RAW file also. How can that be? Help?

Now that I look at it again, it appears the 'blue' that seems to be the sky shining through, may actually be the white of the eagle on the left in shadow. The eagle on the right has the same thing going on, but it seems strange nonetheless.

Scrutinizing the photo very thoroughly, I have concluded that, indeed, the funky thing going on between the birds is the left birds white head in shadows. The same look appears on the right birds white head in shadows.
