excellent pose, details, comp., light and pose. good job in getting parallel...crucial here with that aperture. well done. I like the low angle...but a tad higher might have been better...to avoid the black object in the BG.

    Geir:

Good points from Kaustubh. Although lower is generally better, all other things being equal, I think higher would have helped with the BG and the FG here.

Sharp and well exposed, nice head turn.

    Cheers

I think the low angle makes the photo great. It is not easy to get down to eye level of a dunlin - good job. I would remove the dark spot in the background.

I like the low angle and details / colours, but not a huge fan of the FG rocks creeping up close to the feet...in this regard I think a little higher would have been great unless the FG was very clean. I also agree with the dark spot in the upper left being a bit of a distraction and this could easily be dealt with in post. Still a nice image, I like the crouched and alert pose of the dunlin and I like the matching colours (relative to the subject) of the objects in the water at left.

Great detail and Head angle. I even like the small rocks and the water droplet in front of the bird.
