It is bad enough not seeing these as often as I would like, but not being able to get as near as you would like is a bit annoying as well, but hey it is Sables.

We had a remarkable sighting of a small herd having a "mad half hour" running around as sillily as Gnus do, never seen that before, unfortunately no images of reasonable quality.

I find these terribly difficult to capture properly, the black stripe over their eyes are not exactly conducive to a good eye capture.

Here two have just stopped their play, and realised we were watching

I was not quick enough to stop down after the action where a fast S/S was necessary

Ken - Nice separation and pose from the 2. It does look like the black stripe would make it difficult to focus on the eyes. The brush in the bg looks a little strange, maybe blur it a bit more.

I cannot agree more - another one of my nemesis species photographically (and sightings-wise in general ).
Sounds like this was an enjoyable sighting!

DOF seems to have worked out quite well (at least as viewed at this size). I hear you about the eyes. What time of day was this?

    Morkel,

This was taken at 10.15 so the sun was pretty high up hence the harshness, it was indeed a fabulous sighting, as they say a privilege
