A opportunity I have been waiting for for a long time and it finally became a reality on Saturday morning, I watched this females cubs on a Nyala this female had killed. We pulled out of the sighting when just around the corner we found the mom in the Jackalberry tree. She was sitting in the shade thats why I chose to overexpose by 2/3rds and use f5 to try blur the BG leaves but still maintain enough DOF...Crits appreciated

    Dumay,

What a remarkable shot, I am deeply envious. It has everything needed for a portait, eyes plus pupils and of course the tongue.

On my monitor it seems to have a slight magenta cast, but I really do not care that much, what a nice start to the week

Dumay - Big congrats. Outstanding portrait with great pose and eye contact. The bit of tongue adds to it. Well done .

    Dumay,

Usually images like this are just YAP (Yet Another Portrait). But this is not just another portrait. The engaging eyes, the soft light, and the tongue make this one of the most stunning portraits I have seen of a leopard. Well done. You were close! I've never been that close to a leopard. Wow--those eyes.

Hey mate, great IQ here, and just love the eye contact. Your DOF has worked perfectly, superb detail, sharp, and the colours look fine to me. Now show us the cubs.

Cracking leopard portrait Dumay, you captured an intensity of look here that makes this a winner. Agree with all the compliments above, and I also really like the strong diagonal created by the chunk of tree trunk, which adds the shot by showing some of the leopards habitat. Totall agree with Morkel, one of your best!
