    This is a what older photo of a bird that I shot on a holiday in the island of Curacao.


    1/2500 f 7.1 500mm + 1.4 ex canon1d3 iso 500

    Willem:

    The 'toupee' is great. Excellent head angle, like the crop/framing.

    wish there was a bit more DOF for the back of the head.

    BG color works well with bird.

    Well exposed.

    I liked this a lot (for the reasons stated above) so I brought it into Photoshop for 12 minutes. Does anyone note any differences? I did lots .

    @ Arthur,

    I think too see a bit more sharpness feathers on the lower part of the bid en a bit more color nuances

    Real nice shot. Great head angle, real nice detail, and great background.

    Arthur - I see more sharpening, cleaning of the beak, and toned down the white areas in the background.

    Yes to a bit of sharpening. No bill clean-up. Reduced the saturation of the blue and the pink. Smoothed the BKGR only with NR and Surface Blur at 2/3. Pulled the curve down just a bit.
