    First shot, with new lens of Common Jumping spider (Pellenes nigrociliatus)
    Not sure About ID. Please Help.


    With Canon 550D, and Canon 100mm 2.8 macro lens
    F:3.5

    ISO:400
    SS:1/200
    manual mode
    Shot at night.

    Joshi, I like this very much but wish you had been able to get a little more DOF on those many back legs. You did a super job of getting his face in focus and I know how hard it is with this lens. One thing you could do to make this even stronger would be to clone out the little white areas that appear throughout the leaf.

    Hi Joshi and congratulations on the new lens. You found a very attractive jumping spider to work with! The spider is giving you a nice pose and you have excellent sharpness within your DOF - I just wish you had more DOF. At f/3.5 you have a lot of leeway to increase your f/stop though you may need to use flash to get sufficient light. I think a shot of this spider at f/16 would be spectacular!

    What an awesome looking spider, Joshi, love the eyes and details, color and like the bit of texture of leaf too. Agree about more dof.

    Thanks all yes i also agree if i have shot with more F number.. This is my first shot with new lens And i have taken many more shot with different settings..so more spider to come.

    Congrats on your new lens. I like the composition and the pose. Good sharpness on the head. Waiting to see some more images.
