After nearly 2 years with the Canon 600mm f4 I have nearly forgotten how much fun handholding is....

    Ofer:

Nice look back pose, good DOF, well exposed, like the gradient BG and comp.

    Cheers

    Very nice Ofer.
Great look back and it captures the speed of these guys. Nice
DOF w 7.1 getting complete focus on the bird.

Very nice shot indeed, just wondering about the dark plumage on the head - maybe a tad too dark?? I wasn't there so I don't really know, I just wonder if it would look better that tiny bit brighter.

Lovely image great colours and like the head turned towards you. I know the Adults heads are quite dark but agreed this may be a little too dark.

Thanks for your comments guys. Interesting observation regarding the head being TOO dark. I guess it would have been nice to have some blond genes in the local peregrine population...

I have yet to get one of these and I know they are here in FL. Love the little shy head turn and the great yellows. nice look at the wings too. Please let me know if you get tired of that 800 as I could take it off your hands with no problemo!!

Looks like you're enjoying your new toy Ofer. Love the smooth blue gradient BG. Look-back pose is nice but I would have preferred the bird to be flying towards us.

Lesley, the Canon 800 f5.6 is not that heavy at all!! Slightly heavier than the Canon 500 f4 and definitely manageable handheld.
