    Default Female Northern Harrier

This image was captured late in the afternoon in a snowy field near my home in Ontario. This female was just finishing dining on a vole, not baited, so I was able to sneak closer on my knees in the muck everytime she put her head down to eat. I actually got almost too close for her lift off as I had the 500 with a 1.4 tc , so I clipped the wings on the ensuing flight shots.

    Canon 1D MK 11 N / Canon 500 f4 + 1.4 t. / 1/3200th @ f5.6 ISO 400 / manual exposure / handheld / 1 point center focus / no flash / spot metered off grass

What can I tell you, one of the best NHs I've seen :)
I feel I could count the feathers.
I see you went back to old faithful 1d2N :)
