After a bath, there's nothing better than blow-drying your feathers in the wind. Stone Harbor, NJ last month. This is a different frame, same bird that I recently posted to the ID forum for confirmation - wasn't entirely sure of my ID in his juvenile, wind-blown plumage. C&C appreciated.

    Bill,
Very nice image, good details, pleasing pose and complimentary BG. I find the roughed up freshly bathed windblown look refreshing and different than the norm. I wonder how this might look a tad off the top, that added to the perch area, Only if the perch in that area is pleasing though to maintain the 3x2, with a smidge out in front a well, That said I love it as is, Great job!

Bill, you sure have captured this pose at the best angle, and I like the wet plumage. That BG colour compliments the sparrow so well.

    Bill:

Wet look is fun, has those big teen age feet, nice angle in frame, light just a bit off angle to left to give some definition.

    Cheers

Hah, love the wind blown plumage here. Refreshingly different take on a bird photograph.

Love the mood of this, Bill, and the painterly quality of it--such great textures and delicate colors.

Thank you all for your comments. Yes, Melissa, I think you caught what attracted me to this one. Something about the wet, windblown feathers seemed almost to suggest brush strokes.
