    Default Looking Back

Another image from my Fish Eagle series taken during my three day visit to the Kruger National Park, a few weeks back. As mentioned in my previous post, this guy was chasing a Hamerkop for his food. Normally we wouldnt keep these flying away shots, but since I dont have many raptor images, and he is looking back, I thought I would save it, and share it. Not easy taken from inside my car when he's flying all over the place.

Considering your operating conditions I would say you did a superb job Stuart... Managed good detail on both the whites and blacks

great Stu, IMO the look back saves the flying away position, well done :)

Awesome wingspan from the looks of it. Yes, the look back saved the image but still wish for a better overall angle, and for the eye and eyesocket to be better lit. Very sharp, and well placed in the frame.

    Stu,
Certainly am image worth saving, well presented and executed, especially given you were in a car, that's not easily done. Eye contact for me is always critical in an image and unless something is very dramatic I usually toss them rite away. Here I would have saved this image as well. It has to much else to like about it. Perhaps in post you could bring up the details around the eye a tad, but thats a small nit. Great work! Thanks for sharing!

Great looking bird with fantastic wing span. The looking back pose is nice and compensates for the shooting angle, Stuart.

Not easy from the back of a car. Nice job with the full wing span. I like the look back pose and comp.

I really like the shot, the feather detail is gorgeous, his sideways glance just makes the image for me.
