    Dowitcher, not sure which, but definitely not a yellowlegs.

    Thanks Doug. In my search to id I completely missed the Dowitchers. As badly as I missed my first id I am almost afraid to try again, but after looking at my field guide again, I am guessing Short-billed juvenile. Hopefully someone else will help me out.

    Don, I'd agree with juv. Short-billed. The spotting on the flanks is good for S-B and the marbled pattern of the tertials on a juv. bird is right for S-B.

    Thanks Paul. Shorebirds are difficult to id especially if you don't see them on a regular basis.
