From April. Photographed in bright light (Sunny 16) and I never was happy with my processing until I started using Nik Color Effx Pro 4, tonal contrast filter. Just short of full frame (Trimmed a smidge from the right and top)

Grace, you always make lovely images! I love the feet showing through the water. Comp and posture are great. Everything not getting the full blast of direct sunlight looks great, especially the tail and the fine feathers of crest and lower right. These guys are so hard to expose well. Would you consider cleaning up the bill?

nice portrait, I like the HA, would prefer softer light with these guys to prevent shadows on the whites.

Tough light which was handled very well. Nice post processing to save this one.

Grace, whites look good, and I like the attentive pose. Good to see the feet through the water, and maybe adding a touch to the bottom will work.

Nice composition, and I love the feet being visible through the water and I also like the wispy curls of the tail feathers. I'm OK with the light angle and shadows in this image. You could eliminate the OOF white part touching the egret's shoulder, but all-in-all a very nice image.

    Grace,
very nice image, the Composition is very strong and the exposure looks great, I like the shadows as it adds depth. the Bird is set off very nicely against the blue water BG. The fact the feet are exposed and seen through the water is a real plus!

Grace, very nice. you handled this well. its very easy to blow the whites in this situation....esp. if one blindly follows the camera metering :-) been there, done that.

with light from your right, bird angled this way is perfect.
