The pastel colors of the BG complement the bird nicely. Good sharpness. Would like a slightly better head angle, and I might remove the white speck on the tail feathers.

Lovely bird and BG on this one, Ken. You have nice details around his face and gorgeous light. I only wish he weren't turned away from you.

    Ken,

A beautiful image of a beautiful bird! The multi-colored OOF background is an excellent complement to the subject's coloration. Sidelighting doesn't work in many cases, but when it does, it can be wonderful. This is a good example.

What Doug said, plus maybe a slight blur on the BG to remove any noise.

Thanks everybody for your comments and suggestions.

Firstly the slight noise in the BG, there is no noticable noise in my starting TIFF but whatever way I tried it just kept appearing in the Jpeg, I presume it is because of thhe far lower resolution.

The head angle comments I just do not understand, OK the bird is not exactly parallel to the sensor, but to my eyes at least it is certainly not "turned way"

Spot on with the colours Ken, and just love that colourful BG. Maybe a little tight LRC. On my recent 3 day trip to kruger, I didnt get a decent image at all. Either wrong side of the light, or too high an angle.
