    Hi Josh:

    Welcome to BPN. Glad to see you posting. You captured a wonderful landing position on this one witih a great angle. Love the way his wings are enveloping him and you can see both of his feet. Looks to be a bit tight in the frame but it looks as though you may have cropped here purposefully to avoid some distractions. I think I would try to lighten up the mallard's head a little bit.

    Looking forward to seeing more of your pictures.

    Welcome to BPN Josh!! Very nice landing pose you got from this mallard and the icy landing pad, although something I am not looking forward to seeing, makes for a neat subtle winter setting. The subject does seem dark, lightening it would be good if you can avoid the noise that this could bring up. I also think the comp is tight, and details a bit soft. Still an appealing image, and I am looking forward to more from you!!

    Very nice capture, good exposure, it does however look a little soft to me.
