Busy deleting many and processing a few old files. Found this gem which brought back some special summer memories. This was photographed at sunset as you can see from the pink hue. No beach clean up necessary on this one.

    F8, 1/320sec, IS0 400, manual mode
Feisol tripod, Mongoose head, down low

I really like the close and intimate moment you got here as well as your low angle. I like the softness of the light but i feel the pink cast is just a little too much and I also think it could use a little bit of brightening and or contrast. Can't wait till next years babies..

    Marina,
Such a beautiful image, Love the Intimacy here and the protective and nurturing nature this image provides... so nicely captured.

Cheryl Molennor's critique mirrors mine. I too find the pinkness a bit strong. I appreciate the low angle and enjoy the similar expressions on the skimmers' faces.

What I like best about this image is that it shows in breat detail the skimmers, bill shape, not yet devloped on the youngster.

The BG may be differently coloured than some may expect but I like it, the only thing I would like to see if possible would be a little lightening of the eye.

I do love it, the chick under the protective beach of the parent...the "story" is there...

Hi Marina, I really like the warm light here, and just love how the chick is framed below the parent. I would maybe selectively sharpen the bill a touch.
