I went to a local pond the other day to see what waterfowl had arrived. After spending most of my allotted time reconnecting a lost dog with his owner, I was rewarded with a new species for my files. A low angle was not possible at this site, so I opted to try and maximize the beauty of pretty water from reflecting foliage.

Thank you for looking and for your comments. I appreciate them all.

    Grace:

A handsome little fellow he is. Head looks to big for the rest of him! Sharp, well exposed.

The ripples and wind effects on the water are interesting. Too bad about the shooting angle limitation. Just a bit lower would have helped separate the head from the water ripples and let it display a bit better.

I think you made the most of the situation, and its always nice to get a new one!

    Cheers

Thanks, Randy, it's a gem of a spot in terms of the waterfowl that congregate there, but the angle is frustrating and unchangeable without getting arrested. :)

Grace those are some amazing greens and browns and I like the angle of the ripples as well as the nice light on the belly. I am a fan o fa low angle but sometimes it's just not possible as in my latest post too. The image is still very nice.

    Grace,

Very nice image, the water colors compliment the Drakes colors nicely. He provided you with a nice head turn and your exposure looks great. I love these lil guys, I remember seeing my first, there absolutely beautiful ducks as represented here. Nice job!

Hi Grace, well placed in the frame, and a good looking Teal. I do like the colours on the head, together with the droplets, and the texture on the water certainly is interesting.
