Nice colors, textures, and composition! It's hard to know without being able to click its visibility off and on, but I'm guessing the B&W layer contributed a lot to the feel of this. Great image.

Hi Dennis; you're right...the B&W layer was a huge factor here...I was tempted to leave it as a monotone image, but brought some color back in..still not sure this is the best take on the image, but I like the composition and the elements.

...I'm SO jealous. And I'm with you...the 100-400 is vastly under-rated as a lens by many, especially given its close focusing distance and its versatility. Good to see you back!

Cheryl, Jay, Julie, Andrew and Bob..thank you for your comments and suggestions. I went back last Sunday with my wife and daughter...have several images I need to process yet, a couple that I'm pretty hopeful for. Jay, hope you're enjoying Cade's Cove...I am SO jealous!
