    Default Snow bunting

    Camera Make: Canon
    Camera Model: Canon EOS 30D
    Image Date: 2008:03:17 12:07:09
    Flash Used: No
    Focal Length: 700.0mm
    CCD Width: 4.62mm
    Exposure Time: 0.0003 s (1/4000)
    Aperture: f/8.0
    ISO equiv: 320
    Exposure Bias: -0.33
    White Balance: Manual
    Exposure: aperture priority (semi-auto)

In this picture it may seem that I was at snow bunting level but in realty it was on a snowbank of 5 1/2 feet tall! That will give you a idea of how much snow we got here in Quebec this winter...

    Thanks for looking!

Excellent image, great angle, exposure control and details. The open beak adds to it. There is a slight sharpening halo around the legs, easy to fix.

Very nice work, Francis. I really like the perspective and composition, and I like the slightly opened beak. I think the blacks are just a bit blocked up, and look too dark. You'll see what I mean looking at the image's histogram.

Here's a repost. I think lightening the image livens things up. I lightened the darks seperately, and really brought out some hidden detail.

Stunning image Francis with a wonderful low angle and nicely framed. The exposure is excellent and fabulous BG to show this little beauty off. Superb detail as well. Many thanks for sharing.

Good capture here. Feels like it needs a slight CW rotation (maybe 0.5 degrees or so). It might be an optical illusion from the small pile of snow on the right side though.

This is really beautiful. The snowy environment adds a lot to this image. Love the angle. Nice that you didn't have to get down to the ground level to pull that off !! I like the original better than the repost that is lighter.

A great shot. I love the way his right foot slightly sinks in the snow. A perfect reflection of this snowy winter.
