Spoon Blur
Photographed a few weeks ago while on James Shadle's boat, during James' and Jim Neiger's BAA approved "Best of Florida" workshop.
I really enjoy the open-minded attitude of everyone on this site, and how cool everyone is to all the sharing, learning and teaching goals. Trying to be a little creative, or "artisy", fartsy. I debated whether to save the image by cutting the clipped wing tips, or tossing it, but decided to try, and liked this PS effect. What do you think? I also really respect and appreciate all those who feel that this maybe going a bit too far.
Thank you for looking, and do appreciate all your tips for improvement & helpful comments.
Killer Image Brian. I am not sure but some may feel it is a bit oversaturated (problem with spoonbills in the reds and Canon camera tendency to oversaturate reds) but I think the reds look OK. To bad the right wing blur is cut off. You could restore this and give more room on the bottom and right if that is something you feel comfortable with but this is a cool looking image as presented.
I am not a big fan of blurred images, but I do find the "arsy fartsy" treatment you have given this image appealing. For my tastes, it is oversaturated though.
