Default Close encounters of the third kind... in the mud

For weeks, I waited their arrive, little by little I was pondering the human tolerance,
of the 15 migratory species that I photographed this year, this is the most suspicious
after Virginia Rail and black necked Stilt.

So last Saturday I wake up early and get to the wetland before sunrise, using rubber boots i walk to a small island surrounded by water and mud, I was lying there for 4 hours, against a black plastic and covered with a cloth camouflage, the cold was hard and hurt my toes, but hold me until I got close enough to take these pictures.

To this day it hurts my back for the position, but it was worth having been so close to these beautiful birds, i could have touched its feathers

Great low angle shot here, nice HA and eye contact.

An excellent photo Raul. Thank you. I wish I had the light to shoot at 200 ISO!
