Hello all, I am having cataract surgery in November and December, so I will be taking the next couple of months off. I promise to be back with better vision in 2012! Maybe I will stop saying "it could use more sharpening..."

This Sandhill Crane is brought to you by Topaz, PB Oil Paint, and a texture layer. I applied the texture only to the background to simulate a backdrop in a studio. See you in a couple of months.

Kerry, good luck with your surgery.
I guess we can look forward to even better critiques in a couple of months?

This is very nice, Kerry! Love that orange eye, POV, coloring, and texture you brought out with the filtering looks great.
From the looks of this, it seems like your vision is pretty dang good! Look forward to seeing some fantastic artwork with your new enhanced vision upon your return.

Kerry, take care of yourself and good luck with the surgery; your presence here will be missed. You've been very helpful to me since I started posting a couple of months back, and I'd like to thank you for that...hope to see you back on these forums soon!

Great use of filters, Kerry, and that particular background is a very good choice. As Brendan said, it looks like your vision is pretty good as it is. Based on my own experience, in late May and early June of last year, I think you can expect to be using your camera and processing images very soon. I was at it, again, two weeks after the surgery on the second eye. Best wishes.

Best of luck on the eye surgery, Kerry! I'll keep you in my prayers...

Lovely crane...really super processing, too. You do pretty well for a guy with bad vision...can't wait to see what next year brings!

    Best wishes Kerry.

And do whatever is necessary to protect and preserve your eyes, so that excellent images like this one will keep coming!
