    Default Snowy Egret

This is a Snowy Egret I photographed this past spring in Hull, MA. I was so excited to get it in breeding plumage with it's lores lit up. It was raining on and off that day and this image was made during a brief break.

    Taken with 20d and 100-400 @ 310 1/800 f8.

    Thanks

Hello Taylor and welcome to BPN.

This image suffers from several aspects. The rocks in the BG and FG are a huge distraction to your main subject. The image can also be lighter, perhaps half of stop would of helped that. With that said, I like the feet up and the feather in the head.

    Thank you.

Beautiful plumage and I love the fluffed feathers. I wish for a little more room on the bottom.

Like the placement of subject and pose. I dont know if there is a possibility to take image from ground level. that would have been a possibility for avoiding distracting background. Nice composition.

    Big welcome, Taylor!!!

Hope to make your BPN experience an exciting one :)

Good advise given, you had some side light to cope with that is not helping. And I wish you could have gotten a lower angle to avoid distractions!

    Love the raise foot!

Unfortunately there was no possible way to get any lower. Thanks for the critique.
